Exciting news: AEC will co-host an Arts Ed In-Service Day for music and visual arts teachers with Carnegie Museum of Art (CMOA) and Carnegie Mellon University on October 14!

The day will feature hands-on learning by and for innovative arts educators. Act 48 credits are available to participants. Thanks to generous support from The Grable Foundation, we are offering registration fees on a sliding scale based on the percentage of students in a district eligible for free and reduced-price meals.

Registration for our Arts Ed In-Service Day is now closed. We hope you’ll join us for Regional Arts Ed Day or next year’s Arts Ed In-Service!

The day will begin at CMOA at 9am with a brief introduction. We encourage educators from across the region to join CMOA and Carnegie Mellon faculty for morning and afternoon sessions. Meet colleagues in your field who want to shake up arts ed and get a taste of what two of Pittsburgh’s cultural giants have to offer. Music teachers will have the chance to explore Carnegie Mellon’s music programs, while visual arts teachers will spend the day exploring ways to bring CMOA’s collections into the classroom.

Participants should plan for breakfast and lunch off site or in the CMOA café. CMOA and Carnegie Mellon are located close to many restaurants on Craig Street as well as numerous other offerings on and around the University of Pittsburgh campus.

We hope to see you for our October Arts Ed In-Service Day! Contact Colin Williams at williamsc@artsedcollaborative.org if you have questions.
