Arts Education Collaborative (AEC) is seeking a new director of operations! We would like to sincerely thank Phoebe Irwin (pictured above left) for nearly five years of hard work, support, and kindness. Phoebe joined AEC after moving to Pittsburgh from New York City, where she worked for FABnyc, a community-based arts service organization in the Lower East Side. Since joining AEC, Phoebe has kept things running smoothly through two changes of location of AEC’s offices, the retirement of former AEC director Sarah Tambucci, and the arrival of our current executive director, Yael Silk. Phoebe has also played a major role in keeping AEC focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion and building relationships throughout Pittsburgh. AEC will sincerely miss her compassion and wishes her all the best in her next role.
The next director of operations will be responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of AEC, including serving as contact/liaison to business service vendors and the Controller’s Office, Human Resources and Information Technology departments of the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh (CMP). They will also order supplies, maintain equipment, and guide the day-to-day operations of AEC, and be responsible for developing, monitoring, and reporting on operating, grant, and special project budgets as well as preparing reports to funders and other stakeholders. Other responsibilities will include assisting the director with administrative, personnel and financial details, and further independent projects as needed.
AEC welcomes candidates interested in the director of operations position to check out the posting on the CMP opportunities page and apply using that platform. Candidates holding a high school diploma will be considered and a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience in accounting – especially non-profit accounting – budgeting, and financial management will be valuable in this position. We welcome candidates to explore the rest of AEC’s website for the full scope of our work.
