Arts Education Collaborative maintains connections at the local, state, national, and international levels to inform its work.
Local
- AEC is a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council.
- AEC is a member of the Remake Learning. Jamie Kasper is a member of the Professional Learning Collaborative Workgroup, and Yael Silk is a member of the Pittsburgh Regional STE(A)M Ecosystem.
- AEC maintains a network of liaisons in local school districts, arts organizations, and higher education institutions to both disseminate and gather information.
- AEC works to connect with legislators.
State
- Jamie Kasper represents AEC on the steering committee of the Pennsylvania Arts Education Network.
- AEC staff members present at and attend state- and local-level conferences and events for Pennsylvania Art Education Association, Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, and Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.
- AEC works with the Pennsylvania Department of Education on various initiatives; past initiatives have included the roll-out of the PA Academic Standards for the Arts and Humanities and work on the state’s Student Learning Objectives (SLO) initiative.
- AEC is a member of Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania.
National
- AEC is a member of the advisory council of the Arts Education Partnership (AEP) as well as one of AEP’s partner organizations. Yael Silk became a member of AEP’s Equity Working Group in August 2018.
- AEC is a member of Americans for the Arts (AftA). Yael Silk was selected for AftA’s local arts education network steering committee beginning in January 2019.
- Jamie Kasper worked with the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards (NCCAS) to envision the web presence for the National Core Arts Standards and is a member of the NCCAS media arts committee.
International
- Jamie Kasper is involved in the International Society for Technology in Education. She was one of the founders of ISTE’s Arts & Technology Network, continues to serve as a member of the Creativity Playground planning committee, and was honored in 2016 to receive the Making IT Happen award at the conference in Denver.
